THE 6th NORTON 10km & 5km FUN RUN

We are delighted to confirm that the NORTON COMMUNITY GAMES 10km and 5km races are returning for the sixth time this year, on SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 24th 2017. Full race information can be found below - entries are already coming in, so please come and join us for this friendly mix of road and field running, whether you can manage just 5kms or the longer distance.












Remains unchanged at £10 for all 10km runners and £5 for the 5km. ON THE DAY ENTRIES WILL BE £13 and £8.

2016 RACE

September 16th ~ On line entries through Runner's World are still being accepted.
September 16th ~ Please note that advance entries by post close on Wednesday 21st so please get your entry forms, cheques and stamped addressed envelopes into us over the weekend. Any postal entries received after Wednesday will still be processed, but you will need to collect your race number at Race HQ on the day of the races.
September 15th ~ Thank you to everyone who has entered the 2016 Norton races so far - we have just passed our highest ever pre-race entry number so please keep entering and let's make 25th September a morning to really remember.
September 15th ~ After a computer failure and repair  incorporating an update and a new operating system, we think we are finally in a position to start updating our website. WE HOPE.  Apologies to you all for any inconvenience caused over the last couple of months. Believe me, it has all been worse for us.
September 13th ~ Your medals and the trophies for the first three and first three ladies in each of the two races have been delivered today.



September 27th ~ Our grateful thanks to all of you who turned up this morning to run and support St Richard’s Hospice who do such a fantastic job in Worcester and the surrounding area. Please tell all your friends and colleagues about this little gem of a race, and we look forward to seeing you all again in 2016.

September 27th ~ REBECCA DAVIES from Wye Valley Runners took the Ladies 10km title for 2015 with an 8 minute victory over her nearest rivals. REBECCA finished in 43.40, with DAWN SEBBAGE second in 51.40 and Black Pear Jogger NAOMI MILLWARD third in 51.51.

September 27th ~ What an incredible race we had in the Norton 10km event this morning, with the first two athletes both smashing the old course record of 37.01 by over a minute. ROBERT MEREDITH from Dudley-Kingswinford RC took the 2015 title with a time of 35.36, just 11 seconds ahead of MATTHEW JAMES from Hereford Couriers. ROBERT came 2nd in the 2013 10km, and took the 2014 5km title setting the course record – he now holds the course record at both distances. Third place went to NICK DRABBLE in 37.20 – a repeat of his third place in 2014.

September 27th ~ More success for the youngsters from Worcester AC as 13 year-old ELISE BLAKE took the Ladies 5km title in 22.38 to add to her 2014 victory and her second place in 2013. SELINA TOPHAM from Kidderminster & Stourport AC was second in 24.02 with another 13 year-old LAURA BESSANT of Evesham Vale Triathletes third in 25.14.

September 27th ~ A fabulous morning in WR5 as the sun blazed down out of a perfect blue sky. Not too hot for 12-year old SAM MORGAN though, who blazed his way to a 112-second victory in the 5kms race to add to his third place in 2013. Worcester AC’s Sam finished in 18.50 and was followed home by his 10 year-old club-mate ANDREW JEAVONS in 20.42 with TONY ABBATIELLO third in 21.33.

September 25th ~ According to the BBC weather forecast, the sun is going to shine on Norton on Sunday  Unbroken sunshine is promised from 9am until after 12 noon, with temperatures steadily rising from 11 degrees at 9am to 15 degrees by lunch time. There is NO rain forecast between now and Race Day, so the field should be nicely dry for your lap or two of it.

September 25th ~ To-day is the final day for on-line entries through Runner’s World (we do have to process the entries and add your details to the race results database. All on-line entries not already processed (we are currently up to date) will be done tomorrow afternoon. From midnight tonight on-line entries will no longer be available.

September 24th ~ To-day is the closing date for postal entries so if you haven’t sent in your entry form/cheque/sae it I now too late to do so. Any postal entries received after to-day will be processed and your numbers will be ready for you to collect at Race HQ between 9am and 9.55am on Sunday. Sorry folks – no cheque received, then I’m afraid no advance entry. On the day entries available up to 9.55am at £13 for the 10km and £8 for the 5km.

September 23rd ~ We have received your medals for every finisher and trophies for the first 3 men and first 3 ladies in both races to-day from Running Imp International.

September 15th ~ Your medals and the trophies for 1-2-3 men and ladies in both 5km and 10km races have been ordered to-day.

September 13th ~ All entries received up to now have been processed and where possible your race numbers and information sheets have been sent out. PLEASE REMEMBER TO INCLUDE A STAMPED ADDRESSED A5 ENVELOPE WITH YOUR ENTRY SO WE CAN RETURN YOUR RACE NUMBERS TO YOU.

August 17th ~ Please note that we will NOT be sending race numbers out to those who have entered on-line through Runner’s World. Numbers will be available for you to collect on the day at race HQ. Registration will be open by 9.00am at the latest on the day and we will be open until 9.55 for late entries and number collection.

August 10th ~ We have set up on-line entries for this year’s Norton Fun Run at Runner’s World.  Go to and click on their events ection. Find the Norton Fun Run entry and follow instructions to enter this year’s race. Entry fees include Runner’s World’s commission and are £11.50 for 10km entrants and £6.50 for 5km entrants.

June 28th ~ Hard copies of the entry forms for this year’ Norton Fun Run are now available and will be distributed at local race over the next few weeks.

June 25th ~ We finally have a confirmed date for the 2015 NORTON FUN RUN !  The 4th running of this race will take place on SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 27th with both the 10km & 5km starting at 10.00am.


2014 RACE


July 13th ~ Full results from to-day's NORTON COMMUNITY GAMES 10km & 5km fun runs are now complete and are available for you to view and print. Everything appears to be correct but if you have any queries please e-mail us at and we will try to sort things out for you.

July 13th ~ NICK ADAMS of Black Pear Joggers won the 2014 10kms race to-day in 40.39, while SANDRA LANE from Worcester AC finished in third position overall, taking the ladies title in a new course record time of 42.26.

July 13th ~ ROBERT MEREDITH of D.A.S.H secured the 2014 5kms title this morning in a new course record time of 16.44, while 12-year-old ELISE BLAKE took the ladies 5kms title in 23.48 and 9th place overall.

July 11th ~ Postal entries have now closed :: unlimited entries will be available on the day at £13 for the 10km race and £8 for the 5km. Registration in the hall will be open from 08.30 in the morning for any early birds. PLEASE BRING THE CORRECT MONEY if you can.  Cheques should still be made out to CAMBA EVENTS.

July 11th ~ Updated weather forecast from the BBC for Sunday - the overnight showers should have died away before 9.00 o'clock leaving a morning of light cloud and sunny intervals. Temperatures should be around 17 degrees at race start time rising to 18 by mid-day. Winds around 11 mph in a north-westerly direction.


July 10th ~ Your final chance to beat the on the day surcharges on entry fees ::: send in your entry today or tomorrow by first class mail, with your cheque, and we will process your entry and have everything ready for you to pick up on Sunday morning. Save you time queuing and save you the extra £3, BUT WE HAVE TO HAVE YOUR ENTRIES BY SATURDAY MORNING'S POST.

July 10th ~ Latest weather forecast for Sunday morning is predicting light rain showers starting Saturday evening and continuing through the night until some time after four o'clock Sunday afternoon. temperatures forecast for a pleasant 18 degrees at 10.00 when the race starts rising to 19 degrees by lunch-time.

July 10th ~ Good old Royal Mail have delivered a "fee to pay" card to-day - addressed to Camba Events but with insufficient postage on an A5 envelope ?  IF YOU THINK THIS MAY HAVE BEEN YOU, please contact us because we will not be able to collect this item from RM.

July 9th ~ Your medals and trophies for those lucky enough to finish in the first 3 men and ladies at each distance have arrived to-day.

July 9th ~ Last chance to enter before the postal entry closes - first class stamps on both your stamped addressed envelope and your sending envelope please.

July 8th ~ If you want to enter this year's event and still save the extra £3 on the day entry fee, just send in your completed entry form and cheque to arrive by Friday 11th and we will have everything ready for you to collect your number on the day.

July 6th ~ There is still plenty of time to enter this year's Norton Fun Runs : send in your entries with a stamped addressed envelope (all first class stamps) and we will have your entry processed and numbers back in the post the day we receive them.

June 24th  ~  The usual request having processed entries this morning : PLEASE DO NOT STAPLE YOUR CHEQUES & SAE TO YOUR ENTRY FORMS !  There is NO need for this and to be honest it ruins my nails !!!!

April 1st ~ First entries for this year's Norton Fun Run are received to-day : LUCY KINDLEY and NIK FREEMAN are first off the mark with their 5km entries. Race packs will be sent out later in June.

February 25th  ~  Entry forms for this year's Norton Community Games fun run are now available.

February 11th  ~  The Norton Community Game organisation and St Richard's Hospice have confirmed the third Norton Community Games fun run will take place on SUNDAY JULY 13th 2014 :: PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WILL BE A NEW START TIME OF 10.00am to give runners a better chance of avoiding the worst of the heat as experienced last year. Entry forms will be available soon.

2013 RACE

July 14th ~ There were new names on the ladies 5km roll of honour as SAMANTHA CASELEY of Malvern Joggers took the ladies title in 23.37, finishing in seventh place overall. 11-year old ELISE BLAKE came home in second place, while the true hero of the day was third place finisher DONNA LEWITSKYI who succumbed to the intense heat and dehydration some 50 yards from the finish line, but managed somehow to haul herself across the line to take the third place trophy by 10 seconds. Donna was treated at the finish line for some time before being taken to hospital to be checked over.

July 14th ~ It was a case of a double take in the 2013 Norton 5km race, with NICK HITCHINGS of Worcester AC defending his 2012 title in great style, knocking 27 seconds off his previous time. 13-year old OLLIE MORGAN (also of Worcester AC) repeated his runners-up spot from 2012, in a time 47 seconds faster than last year. Third place went to Ollie's 10-year old brother SAM MORGAN of Worcester AC.

July 14th ~ 2012 Ladies Champion SARAH ARMSTRONG of Amazing Feet RC was in no mood to relinquish her title, and she stormed round to an overall seventh place finish in 43.38, just under half a minute ahead of SIAN POWELL of Kidderminster & Stourport AC in second place. Third lady home was ELLEN HEMSWORTH of Worcester Tri Club.

July 14th ~ It was a Dudley-Kingswinford RC double with BENJAMIN FOSTER taking the second Norton 10km title in a time of 37.01, just FOUR seconds ahead of his club mate ROBERT MEREDITH. Last year's first Norton 10km Champion came home in third place - ANDREW BRIAN knocking 25 seconds off his 2012 time.

July 14th ~ Congratulations to every single participant in to-day's Norton Fun Runs, held in the middle of the hottest summer for over 35 years and on a day of unbroken sunshine and 27 degrees plus. Provisional results are now available - follow the links above to either the 5km or 10km listing.

July 15th ~ The first 10km Ladies Champion was SARAH ARMSTRONG of Amazing Feet RC, coming home exactly three minutes ahead of KATHERINE SMITH with Worcester Tri Club's ELLEN WINTER third.

July15th ~ ANDREW BRIAN became the first Norton 10km Champion, finishing in 37.56 just a minute ahead of EDWARD COLLIER from Almost Athletes with PHIL EDWARDS third.

July 15th ~ Worcester AC also provided the 5km Ladies Champion as MOLLIE BROWN crossed the line in 21.18, just under four minutes ahead of CLAIRE COSTANDUROS in second place. REBEKKAH STEPHENS from Almost Athletes was third.

July 15th ~ Congratulations to NICK HITCHINGS of Malvern Joggers who was our first Champion of the day coming home first in the 5km race in 19.39. 12-year old OLLIE MORGAN of Worcester AC was second with EDWARD WHYTE, also from Worcester AC third.

July 15th ~ Thank you to everybody who turned up and entered on the day to swell our numbers - 33 of you in the 10km, and another 30 in the 5km.

July 12th ~ Every finisher will receive a medal as they cross the line, and there are trophies for the first three men and women in both the 5kms and 10kms races.  If you are in those groups, please stay with us afterwards until the Presentation so we can present you with your trophies. There are NO category prizes this year.

July 12th ~ Don't forget - the 5kms race is ONE LAP, the 10kms race is TWO LAPS. Please follow the instructions of the marshals and signs on the day.

July 12th ~ If anyone is coming along and would be willing to assist us in marshalling, recording, handing out medals etc, please let us know by e-mail or at Registration.

July 12th ~ Registration will be at NORTON PARISH HALL in LITTLEWORTH on Sunday, opening at 09.00 (follow the signs).  Please ensure you arrive in good time to fill in your form and pay us - we are aiming to close Registration at 10.50 - 10 minutes before the start of the race.

July 12th ~ There is still time to get your entries to us and escape the £3 on the day surcharge.  Simply send your entry form and cheque to us to arive by SATURDAY'S POST and we will process your entries, allocate numbers, and have everything ready for you to collect on the day at Registration.

July 11th ~ Officially the closing date for postal entries, but if you get your entry forms, cheques and stamped addressed envelopes (FIRST CLASS) to us tomorrow, we will process and return your entries in tomorrow night's post.

July 4th ~ ALL entries received up to to-day's date have now been processed by us, and race numbers & information leaflets have been returned in tonight's post. IF you have entered but haven't received your details by this weekend, please contact us as soon a spossible, as there is a problem somewhere.

June 29th ~ Race numbers are received from Running Imp International and once the instruction leaflet is finalised with our associates, we will be ready to start sending out your numbers.

June 25th ~ Entries continue to come in - PLEASE sort out your entry in advance to assist us in planning for the right numbers AND to save yourselves £3 on the day.

May 22nd ~ Our first 10km entry is received to-day, with Peter Gilbert of Black Pear Joggers first off the mark. We anticipate sending race numbers out by the end of June/beginning of July.
